Verwoerdpark postal site is a disgrace

Several calls were made to the given number, but it just rings and rings.

THE post boxes in Verwoerdpark (at Gemini Place) seem to have been taken over by vagrants.

The RECORD has previously reported on a similar situation at the Alberton Post Office and it would now appear the same is happening at the Verwoerdpark site – property here is damaged and the area is being used as a storage facility by the homeless, and perhaps even a place to sleep.

DAMAGED PROPERTY: Property has been damaged to gain access and store goods – and perhaps even find shelter.

The RECORD spoke to the manager of the Verwoerdpark Post Office who confirmed that they are aware of the situation and we were given a phone number for the department responsible, as well as the manager’s name.

Several attempts were made to contact the manager but the number we were given remained unanswered.

FALLING APART: The area that houses the post boxes in Verwoerdpark is falling apart.
