Washing cars for others
Everyone helped, from young to old – and the best part was that they seemed to be having lots of fun.
ON Human Rights Day, March 21, AMCARE hosted a family-friendly carwash event to raise funds to help others.
The event started at 10:00 and concluded at 14:00. The washing crew was full of life, inviting all the cars that drove past the premises to pull in for a quick, bubbly wash. One of the crew’s children, a little boy with a big, bright smile, made everyone smile too as he enthusiastically jogged along next to each car that pulled in, welcoming them to the carwash.

Everyone helped, from young to old – and the best part was that they seemed to be having lots of fun. While people waited for their cars to get clean, they relaxed outside at tables in the shade, talked with one another and enjoyed cold drinks and coffee.
“It seems to be going good. Everyone is enjoying the peace here,” said Nadine Mason, social work supervisor of AMCARE.

She was speaking the truth – AMCARE’s garden and flowers were looking gorgeous in the sunlight and the breeze was just perfect – not too cold beneath the shady trees. It made for an overall relaxing outing and not just a boring carwash. As one car exited, another pulled in, keeping the crew busy with their bubbles.

Have you cleaned out your car or even your closet recently, and found things that you don’t use anymore and want to throw away? Don’t – donate them to AMCARE instead! Help AMCARE to help others by giving them donations of old clothes and anything that might be of use to someone else. Just pop by at AMCARE at Ascot Road any time.
