Church men help those in need

Whenever and wherever there is a family in need, these men are up for the task.

THESE men believe that the traditional role of women going out into the community to help struggling families can be fulfilled by men as well.

A group of men calling themselves Christian Men Ministry have embarked on a mission to help those in need in their area. They have identified needy families, not only in their congregation but also in the community as a whole. They paint homes and supply the families with food parcels.

“We, as church men, have an open invitation to men of other churches to join us in our mission. Any man is welcome to join because the more we are, the more families we can reach out to. We are creating a safe haven for everyone.

“Whenever and wherever a need arises, we are ready for the task. In 2016 we identified Aunt Bokkie Ruiters’ house in Riemvasmaak, and now for 2017 we have identified Reverend Kelebogile Mekoa’s house in Valiant Street,” said the group spokesperson, Izak ‘Zacks’ Meyers.

He further added that their task is not only to concentrate on spiritual guidance but also to help to make life easier for those families with a need.
