Church men treat women on Mother’s Day
Men pull out all the stops to spoil and honour the mothers in their church.
ALL mothers must be respected, loved, treasured and treated well at all times. Their undying love and never-ending care should be appreciated indefinitely.
This message came over quite clearly when a group of men from the United Reformed Church (URC/VGK), known as the Christian Men’s Ministry (CMM), did just that by organising a Mother’s Day breakfast for all the mothers of the church. The breakfast was hosted on Saturday, May 13 to make sure the Sunday service was not interrupted.
According to the men’s spokesperson, Izaac Zakes Meyer, the group is planning to make the breakfast an annual event.
“This is the start of big things to come for the mothers of the church. To reflect our appreciation for their love and care, we will host this event every year from now on,” he said with a boyish smile.
Speakers at the event were the Reverend Kelebogile Mekoa and sister Margret Boekhouer from the Methodist Church. The two delivered very motivational speeches which had the ladies smiling and nodding with appreciation and satisfaction.
Many of the mothers expressed their gratitude towards the CMM for the event and were impressed about what Reverend Mekoa said: “There is a difference between ‘complete’ and ‘finish’. If you marry a good woman, you are complete; but if you marry a bad woman, you are finished.”
