The Marian Rose Foundation’s wishlist for Mandela Day
We call on all our advertisers to help us to assist The Marian Rose Foundation in the work they do
THE Alberton RECORD will be running a feature in aid of the The Marian Rose Foundation in our edition of July 19 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Marian Rose Foundation. We call on all our advertisers to help us assist The Marian Rose Foundation with the work they do, by providing them with the things on their wishlist.
Their wishlist:
“Our wish list is short as we mainly need funds to pay for medical procedures. The two other needs we have are:
We have one child without sexual organs for whom we buy nappies because he wears a colostomy bag. He currently uses size 6 XL Pampers – the brand which works best for his condition. He currently uses 120 nappies a month.
We have a child who can’t swallow and is fed Pediasure through a peg tube in his stomach to supplement his normal food as he needs more nutrients to thrive. If anyone would like to donate Pediasure that would be great. He currently goes through five tins a month,” said Kay Ross, founder
More about them:
The Marian Rose Foundation was established to provide special assistance to South African children in need, or with no access to medical aid.
Their Mission:
To wholly or partly finance the medical costs of children who undergo procedures that are considered to be either life-saving, life-altering or prohibitive.
How and Why?
In South Africa many children have absolutely no access to a medical aid.The Marian Rose Foundation was established to help those in need of special assistance but just do not have access to the funds to pay for their treatment. “Our Board assesses each case individually. We endeavour to help wherever we can as soon as possible,” she said.
Trusted Experts:
They have two doctors on their board, who offer invaluable guidance. They also have access to a number of pediatric specialists and therapists.
Vision for the future:
1. Ensuring a healthier future for many more children.
2. Giving hope where there is despair.
