DISAGREE: Danie Els a Gerniston resident visiting in Albertsdal said: “I definitely think that Ekurhuleni needs improvement. Take, for instance, the water and electricity issues – I find it hard to believe that our money is being spent properly if our water and electricity has to be cut off so often, especially during winter months.”
ACCORDING to the Business Day newspaper’s index that tracks how well cities and towns spend residents’ money, Ekurhuleni has been ranked the top metro in the country out with 81.9 points out of 100.
HARD TO BELIEVE: Dane Cookson a Boksburg resident working in Alberton said: “I find it hard to believe that Ekurhuleni won. Have they forgotten about the pothole situation? I shudder to think what the other metros must be like, then…”

It’s quite scary, actually…”FOR CITY OF CT: Tiaan Kotzé, councillor and Alberton resident said: “I think it’s a bit ridiculous, to be honest. Ekurhuleni is the top metro – based on what? Personally, I would expect City of Cape Town to be the best. They have outstanding financial, investment and service delivery stances – much better than Ekurhuleni’s, I’d say.”DON’T COMPLETELY AGREE: Izak Berg, councillor and Raceview resident said: “I’d say that according to statistics, Ekurhuleni might be the best, but when it comes to service delivery and value for the money that residents spend, they are certainly not the best.”
