Don’t answer unknown international calls
It’s called the ‘one ring scam’ and it is doing its rounds with many people being affected.
THE ‘one ring scam’ is apparently a new scam doing the rounds and people are being affected by it. There have been many reports of people receiving a call from an international number which only rings once, twice or three times.

People call back the number after receiving these missed calls because they want to know who the caller was and why he or she called. Once you call back, you either trigger spam – which will result in spam being sent to you – or you are put on hold. Because the other person won’t talk, you eventually end up with a high account.
If you get any calls from an unknown number beginning with the following country codes, then be sure to ignore them. Don’t pick up: Burundi (+257), Malawi (+265), Pakistan (+92), Russia (+7), Nigeria (+234), Tunisia (+216), Belarus (+375), Guinea (+224), Belarus Afghanistan (+375), Lativa (+371), Serbia (+381), Valparaiso (+563), Vilnius (+370), Tanzania (+255).

Avoid calling these international numbers unless you know the number or person calling. It is alleged that these hackers can copy your contact list, your banking details on your phone and can access your sim card. Do not dial #90 or #09 if asked to do so by anyone. Be cautious and alert.
Download Truecaller app on Google Play to be able to screen all calls and messages and be alerted to scams.
