At 60 she still loves teaching

Loved teacher at Eden Park Primary celebrates her birthday.

BELIEVE it or not but Nelly Jauschneqg has turned 60 and is still a dedicated teacher at Eden Park Primary.

She celebrated her birthday with family and friends during the school holidays.

Nelly, the darling teacher of Eden Park Primary School is originally from the Western Cape where she started her teaching career before she made the move to Eden Park. Once in Eden Park, she became a prominent member of the community.

In 1998 she started teaching at Eden Park Primary and has been at the school for 19 years. She is admired and respected by her colleagues who expressed their admiration to the RECORD.

“Throughout the years I have been at the school with madam Nelly, I have learned a lot from her. She is an example to many of the young teachers. She is always modest, calm and eager to help anyone. She contributes money to help whenever the need arises,” said deputy principal Millie Phillips.

Passion is something that is not just picked up on the street. Nelly or rather Ouma Nelly, was born with a passion for teaching. She is loved and adored by both teachers and learners and although she is 60, she continues to teach with energy and passion.

The school and community wish you good health, Ouma Nelly.
