Live life and love those around you
She lives by the motto that keeps her driven, which is “let’s do this!”
SHE is a bundle of fitness and kindness intertwined and holds a special place in her heart for animals. On September 21, the RECORD happened to meet and get to know Amorette Becker, a softspoken Verwoerdpark resident who puts her heart and soul into fitness.
Amorette (25) was born in the Johannesburg General Hospital on January 22, 1993.
Today she lives in a complex in Verwoerdpark with her husband, Dayne (29). They have been married for five years and have no children but would like to in the future.
Her mom, Christell de la Rey, holds a special place in her heart because they have been through many tough times together. Amorette also has a soft spot for vulnerable and abused animals. She tries to be the best person she can be and describes the ‘perfect’ person as someone who is kind, loyal and open to change, growth and progression.
Day to day
During the day, Amorette works in Alrode South for a company that specialises in fire alarm systems. She has been working there for over four years. Her favourite part of the job is being close to her boss and his wife, with whom she has built a great friendship over the years.

In her free time, she likes to paint, listen to old-school tunes, spend time with her husband and work on her fitness. When she doesn’t go to SA Olympic Health World in New Market, she goes for runs around the neighbourhood or does her exercises at home to release stress. Her favourite time to exercise is around 5am when the air is still cool.
Pillar of strength
She talks about her biggest challenge in terms of fitness and health: “The most challenging part that I work on every day is to get out of my comfort zone and, more importantly, to eat right. It’s easy to exercise, but keeping to a strict, healthy eating plan is what’s difficult.” Lucklily, Amorette has no shortage of motivation. She lives by the motto that keeps her driven, which is “let’s do this!”
Without hesitation, Amorette says her husband is her inspiration and passion. “Dayne has a way of making me believe that I can do anything if I really want to. He is, and will always be, my pillar of strength.”
Amorette’s message to the readers: “Love everyone, even those who treat you badly, as if they are your family. Always treat people with kindness, no matter what – that is the best advice I can give you.”
