CANSA East Rand Care Centre’s purpose is to lead the fight against cancer in South Africa. Its mission is to be the preferred non-profit organisation that enables research, educates the public and provides support to all people affected by cancer. They are situated in 15 Heidelberg Road, Alberton and have been running for years.

How can you help:

Help CANSA be a gift to those affected by cancer by making an online donation or becoming an online fund-raising activist on one of CANSA’s online fund-raising projects below. It’s easy. Simply click on the project closest to your heart and follow the prompts to set it up. You are welcome to download their online fund-raising manual too.

Once you have set up a fund-raising project on GivenGain you will be able to keep track of your donors. You can encourage online donations by making use of videos and photos and sharing the URL (link) to your project on your social media networks and via email.

Care and Support:

CANSA’s Care Centres offer a wide range of care and support services to those affected by cancer. Please support their projects so that they can offer support to more patients and their loved ones:

  • CancerCare coping kit (free audio-programme to help patients and loved ones cope with a cancer diagnosis).
  • CANSA care homes (a home-from-home for out of town patients receiving treatment).
  • Counselling and home-based care (training of counsellors and home-based carers).
  • Kindest cut campaign (hair donations and funds for wigs).
  • Toll-free call centre (keep phone lines manned – phone, WhatsApp and email support).
  • Youth affected by cancer (counselling, practical support and lodging for parents of children/teens receiving treatment/prostheses for young cancer patients).
  • Service delivery discretionary (affordable stoma products, prostheses and medical equipment hire).
