“OH yes, we are very happy that God brought my husband back home. I thought I would never see him again. We kept praying day and night for thirteen days. God is wonderful,” said Tossie Ellis Michaels with a big smile.
Oupei, who is suffering from dementia, went missing on October 31. The family asked the RECORD to publish it and this was done in the November 12 issue.

A week after his disappearance, a lady from Eden Park informed the family that she had seen Oupei on the Freeway to Vereeniging.
“On November 13, an emergency vehicle arrived at my gate to deliver my husband. Best Monday morning of my life. The hospital staff said Oupei was found in Vereeniging and taken to hospital by an unknown person.
“They said he only remembered his home address after days. We were happy to notice that he had not sustained any injuries. We thank the community for praying with us,” said Ellis.
“I was just about to enter the morgue at Thelle Mogoerane Hospital when I received a call informing me that my brother was back home. The worry and sadness slid down my shoulders and I felt joy filling my soul,” said Oupei’s sister, Liza Slabert.
