SANBS promotion aims to aid holiday accidents
As part of the promotion, SANBS gave away special cupcakes and cellphone power banks to each donor.
DURING the week of November 18, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) had a promotion to attract more blood donors at the Alberton City Shopping Centre.
During this time, donor recruiters wandered the shopping centre to encourage people to head over to SANBS (across the Telkom store) and give a donation.
“At this time of the year there are a lot more accidents because of people tackling the long roads to their holiday destinations,” said Kamantha Pillay, donor relations practitioner of SANBS Alberton. “Therefore, blood droughts are a reality and donations are crucial. The more donations we get, the better.”
As part of the promotion, SANBS gave away special cupcakes and cellphone power banks to each donor. To first-time donors, a free water bottle was also handed out. These treats definitely attracted extra donors and on the morning of November 18, SANBS was fully packed.
If you haven’t donated to SANBS yet, feel free to visit them at Alberton City Shopping Centre. For more information, call 011 247 9009. Save a life today – it could be yours!
