Meet Corli Carratu
Carratu not only has a heart of gold, always involved in some charity project, but is also an accomplished model.
SHE is a 32-year-old busy woman, wearing many hats and being involved in various charitable endeavours.
One of Alberton and the South’s power women, Corli Carratu (Gericke) spoke to the RECORD about where she comes from and her dreams for the future. Corli was born in Paarl (Cape Town) on September 14 in 1985 and she lived in the Boland region for 18 years.
“At the age of 18 (2003) after I matriculated, my husband and I relocated to Johannesburg to start our working careers,” said Corli.
“I fell pregnant with my first born at the age of 19, but I didn’t stop working on my dream to be successful. You have to be motivated to follow your dreams and everyone should be successful on a journey that they plan for themselves,” she added.

Starting a business
At the age of 20, Corli started a business in the childhood development industry that has gone from strength to strength and she is now also the mother of three beautiful children.
“And I’m a wife to an amazing husband who supports me,” she added.
Corli not only has a heart of gold always being involved in some charity project, but she is also an accomplished model, even being selected as a semi-finalist in the Mrs South Africa pageant in 2015.
“Originally, my motivation when I entered Mrs South Africa was to reach out to pre-schoolers in the rural, poorer areas, but I have noticed that there are so many organisations in South Africa that need help.
“Since then I have been involved with Pulmonary Hypertension in South Africa (awareness campaigns as brand ambassador), Miss Deaf SA (as a judge in 2015), as both my step brother and sister were born deaf, the Siyabonga Children’s Home, the Alberton SPCA and New BeginninZ Children’s Home.

About the future
As for the future, Corli said she will continue with her great passion, charity work, especially with children.
Her modelling career is also doing well, having successfully entered a competition that will see it’s winner secure a modelling contract in New York for one year; the shortlist will be announced in February next year.
Beautiful inside and out, this Albertonian’s future looks set to be filled with fame and fortune, not to mention all the good she’ll continue to do.
We look forward to seeing more of Corli – a great example of what one can do when you put your mind to it, especially in spite of coming from humble beginnings.
