Alberton Toastmasters end off the year on a high note

Mubvumbi commended the club for fun-filled meetings which create a good learning environment for members.

ALBERTON Toastmasters Club ended the year on a high on December 7 when it hosted a Cuban themed year-end function at the Alberton Retirement Village.

The club’s year-end function was also attended by the Toastmasters Area 1 governor Tawanda Mubvumbi who delivered an inspirational speech about being assertive without losing one’s temper. Mubvumbi commended the club for fun-filled meetings which create a good learning environment for members.

Toastmasters is an international non-profit organisation which provides a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

The club’s president, Adri Fourie, said they had a great year with many members realising the goals and plans they had set for themselves and anticipates more growth in the new year.

Fourie said: “Toastmasters continues to be a fun and professional environment for improving your public speaking and leadership skills.”

Alberton Toastmasters Club will open next year on January 18. The club encourages anyone who wishes to polish their leadership and communication skills to visit their meetings which sit every first and third Thursday of the month.
