MARIAAN VAN NIEKERK: “This year I want to give lots of effort in improving my personal relationships. I want to spread love and cheer into my loved ones’ lives.”
THE RECORD explored the town to find out what community members’ plans were to get healthier, whether it be spiritual or physical, this year.

KANEASHA MORE: “I’d like to join a Bible study group and possibly make a few new friends. I’m trying to go to church often to be more in touch with my spirituality.”GERRIE MULDERS: “I’m living the ‘student lifestyle’, and I’ve realised I needed to exercise to counterbalance it. I’ve started jogging and staying active as much as possible.”TANIA RIBEIRO: “To stay spiritually healthy, I’ve started going to church more often. I’m also going to keep drinking green tea every day to stay healthy overall.”EL-MÈ RAUBENHEIMER: “I started doing kickboxing this year. I hope it will keep me fit and I also really enjoy it. I’m also looking forward to finishing my last year at university.”
