La Leche meetings help breastfeeding moms
These meetings offer an opportunity to women to share questions, answers and concerns about breastfeeding.
ANOTHER monthly La Leche League meeting for breastfeeding women took place on February 15 at 8 Hennie Alberts Street.
La Leche League (LLL) South Africa is a non-profit, non-sectarian volunteer organisation, dedicated to providing information, encouragement and support to women who want to breastfeed their babies or who are currently breastfeeding through a unique mother-to-mother support network.
These meetings offer an opportunity to share and help other mothers with questions and concerns about breastfeeding. They are one of the most effective and friendly ways of getting the support they need.
Different topics are touched on during each meeting, some of which includes advantages of breastfeeding, overcoming difficulties and nutrition and weaning. Often, ladies also have breastfeeding Q&A’s based on scientifically proven information.

Seven moms (with their babies) attended this particular meeting and had great discussions. There was also coffee, tea and breakfast snacks for all the busy moms to enjoy.
These monthly meetings take place on the third Thursday of every month and any woman with an interest in breastfeeding is welcome to attend. The next meeting will take place on March 15.
