Madiba struggling to talk
Measures to maintain the ailing statesman’s health are reported by his ex-wife Winnie Madikizela-Mandela to be hindering his ability to speak.
JOHANNESBURG – Although Madiba is said to be using facial gestures to communicate with family and caregivers, he has been unable to speak his requests.
Having been discharged from the Pretoria Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital on September 1, after his condition took a serious turn for the worst in June, Madiba had reportedly been receiving medical treatment at his Houghton home.
According to News24, his bedroom in Houghton has been transformed into an intensive care facility where he receives 24 hour care from 22 doctors.
