Residents speak out about petrol station robberies

The RECORD asked a few Albertonians to find out how they felt about the recent spike in petrol station robberies.

THE RECORD asked a few Albertonians to find out how they felt about the recent spike in petrol station robberies. Here’s what they had to say.

CHARMAIN NORRIS: “Robbers have become so arrogant that they don’t even care if people or CCTV cameras can see them. I feel sorry for the station owners and their safety. The police should be more vigilant.”
HLONI MABENA: “Nobody is safe these days. The tsostis are so quick to hijack people or steal their phones at the petrol stations. It’s frightening that it happens so often.”
MORNÉ VAN WYK: “I’m shooketh to the core, to be honest! To think that something as ordinary as filling your car poses such a danger is most frightening to me.”
MAXWELL MWISI: “It’s very bad, especially the cash-in-transit trucks that get robbed so often. People must stand together and fight these criminals. The police must pull themselves together and watch over the petrol stations.”
