Love Campaign needs Nan and nappies

Deadline looms for Nan and nappies donations handover for the little boys and girls of Door of Hope and the Love Campaign needs your generosity.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Ester Love Campaign is making great strides in helping a worthy organisation fulfil their mandate of enriching the lives of saved babies who were abandoned by their parents.

With only a few weeks remaining until the Ester Love Campaign hands over donated Nan and nappies to the deserving recipients of Door of Hope in the south, the El Bethel Fellowship is reaching out to giving hearts to assist them reach their target of 600 packs of branded nappies and 600 tins of Nan formula.

Although generous residents from all over Johannesburg have contributed to the worthy Love Campaign, the donations put together only make a month’s supply of resources needed by Door of Hope.

“Where we are right now, we have a month’s supply of nappies and Nan but we need more to reach our target. There have been kind-hearted people giving in the south but a lot of donations are coming from the Northern areas,” explained Pastor Cindy Jacobs, one of the organisers.

Schools in various parts of the south have also pledged to make contributions to the Love Campaign fundraiser as well as many churches, however, they are reaching out to communities to lend a helping hand and contribute the much needed resources in the spirit of giving this festive season.

“On the week of December 7 we (El Bethel Fellowship members) will be going out and calling on people to join the cause. We are also looking to extend the campaign of the Door of Hope fundraiser until the target promised has been reached,” added another organiser and member of the El Bethel Fellowship, Mr Mark Brand.

The set handover date of all donations to Founder of Door of Hope, Cheryl Allen, is December 15 where a big event will be held at the church in Turffontein.

“The Love Campaign has brought us back to reality of UBUNTU and that it takes a village to raise a child. In a world where it would seem that people do not care, the Love Campaign has proved the opposite as true [people do care],” said Pastor Jacobs.

Communities are urged to help change the destinies of abandoned babies by giving a pack of Pampers / Cuddlers Nappies or a tin of Nan milk as their contribution would make a significant difference in the lives of the children.
