Regular dumping becoming a real concern

The dumping in front of the Palm Ridge Shopping Centre started as a small heap of rubbish but has now developed into an ever increasing heap and it is growing daily.

PALM RIDGE – With the street hawkers and shoppers dumping their rubbish daily and the metro not picking up the rubbish, the site has become a health risk for the community who are now worried about the big rats roaming on the heap.

A frustrated and disappointed resident, Arthurn Nayes said: “The rubbish heap and the rats are growing bigger while the council trucks pass and park here daily for shopping. I have phoned the council about the problem but nothing has been done.

“The council is charging us for removal which is clearly a service not being delivered. Councillor Neil Diamond published in the RECORD that residents must report their problems.

“We do that but the council is not playing its part. This is evidence of poor service delivery. Watch my vote in 2014.”
