A big gathering was held where community members danced and worshipped to the gospel of Christ.

IT was more than just another blanket drive when visitors were embraced with thick blankets as well as the Lord’s gospel and the warmth of hearty soup and bread.

Pastor Kobie van Weren with Dallon Bluemeyer and Brian Kayster from the Eden Park AFM Church put this blanket drive initiative to action in Eden Park on July 7. With the help of Leon Ludick and Ewan Oberholzer from Pretoria’s Moreleta Park Church, as well as other very kind donors, nearly 100 blankets and 110 loaves of bread were collected.

WORSHIPPING: The blanket drive visitors praised and worshipped from the bottom of their hearts, even though they don’t have much.

These wonderful donations brought big smiles to less fortunate Eden Park community members. Before the blanket distribution, however, a big gathering was held where over 100 community members danced and worshipped to the gospel of Christ. Everyone was given a serving of warm soup and bread.

SINGING TO THE CROWD: The gospel band made wonderful music for the blanket drive visitors to worship to.

“We want to say thank you to everyone who contributed to this special occasion,” said Dallon on behalf of AFM.

“We look forward to paying door-to-door visits to the residents of Eden Park to continue spreading the gospel and joy of today.”

Leon Ludick also commented: “It’s such a privilege for us to visit you today. But it’s not about us – it’s only about the Lord. I pray He bless this wonderful occasion abundantly.”

BREAD FOR THE HUNGRY: Two AFM ladies prepare the donated bread for the hungry visitors.
