Residents of Eden Park demand justice for Melonique Klassen

The trial of the suspect accused of murdering Melonique Klassen is postponed to August 20.

THE suspect accused of the murder of Melonique Klassen appeared in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on August 7.

He stands accused of shooting Klassen seven times on March 23.

The case has been postponed again to August 20 pending further investigation. The suspect remains in custody.

Residents of Eden Park came to court again today exclaiming their disgust with violence towards women. They are demanding that justice is served and that the suspect is denied bail.

To add credence to the suspect being denied bail, concerned residents, in partnership with the GetUp Woman Foundation, has drawn up a petition to give to the prosecutor. The petition currently has over 3 500 signatures.
