Community day was a success
“These members serve the community day in and day out, all at their own expense.”
ALBERTON Community Police Forum (CPF) held a Boerie Day and a fund-raiser in Second Avenue in Verwoerdpark on September 29.
Linda Goodenough, community development manager for Fidelity ADT and an Alberton local, who has spent her whole life in the area, says she was so proud to see her own community so engaged and committed.
“I cannot remember seeing such an impressive production line of delicious boerie rolls, chips and Pregos which were literally sold by the dozen,” said Linda.“The mood was jubilant and the air was filled with laughter. Cars driving by were hooting in support of this great day and children delighted at their chance to jump on the jumping castle and have their faces painted. The CPF members know the slogan just do it so well.”

Linda said on a more serious note the CPF members really need to be acknowledged for their enormous contribution to the community.
“These members serve the community day in and day out, all at their own expense. I can sometimes see in their faces how tired they are and I can just say thank you God for putting such awesome people here on earth that are willing to serve. At night, while we sleep, they patrol. In the day, while we are at work, they are also at work.”
“I am privileged that Fidelity ADT could be part of this day and help make it that much safer, together with CPS and SOG standing by and flying their flags high,” she concludes.
