Bogus health inspectors targeting spaza shops

The City of Ekurhuleni distances itself from the bogus health inspectors.

THE City of Ekurhuleni has noticed with concern that bogus health inspectors are going around Ekurhuleni raiding various spaza shops.

Executive mayor Clr Mzwandile Mashina condemns their actions in the strongest possible terms as they are not sanctioned by the City.

Some of the spaza shops that have been visited by the bogus inspectors have reported thefts by these frauds. Masina wants to reiterate that the City’s environmental health practitioners would not steal from residents.

City of Ekurhuleni environmental health practitioners are issued with identity cards that bear the photos of the concerned practitioners and the telephone number of the office from which a particular inspector comes from.

Residents who are accosted by the bogus inspectors can verify the authenticity of so-called practitioners by calling the City’s Health and Social Development offices.
