Ekurhuleni to experience water shortages

Rand Water will keep consumers informed of the developments

Rand Water advised consumers in Gauteng that there would be an interruption in their water supply.

“We are experiencing electrical problems at our Palmiet Pumping Station and the system is at a critically low level. Our Klipriviersberg Reservoir is at below 20 percent,” said Rand Water spokesperson Justice Mohale on Saturday morning.

“Under these circumstances we have to intensify restrictions on the network in order to assist in alleviating pressure on the reduced capacity. The affected areas include the City of Johannesburg, City of Tshwane and Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipalities.

“We, along with our municipal customers will keep consumers informed of the developments on this matter.,” he added.
