“The driver is a representative of the City and is responsible for safely transporting children and obeying the rules of the road,” said Reilly.
The Democratic Alliance in the City of Ekurhuleni has strongly condemned the alleged speeding of a municipal bus, which is going viral on social media.
This is according to Ald Jackie Reilly, DA Chief Whip in Ekurhuleni.
“In the alleged video, the bus driver is seen speeding on the shoulder of a road while transporting pupils to school,” said Reilly.
“This clear and apparent disregard for the law is of serious concern. We call on the EMPD to investigate the authenticity of the video and should it found that the alleged video is authentic; steps should be taken to bring the driver to book.
