Battle of the Fans to raise money for charities
“We would like to thank everyone who supported this fund-raiser and please know that your help will go a long way towards a good cause.”
IN aid of numerous charities across Johannesburg, a fund-raiser called Battle of the Fans was held at Sundowners Pub in Alberton on March 2.
It was loads of fun with various local up-and-coming bands providing the day’s (and night’s) entertainment.
Charities that were assisted through this event included Boksburg SPCA, The Animal Guardians (TAG) from Boksburg, Woodrock Animal Rescue from Pretoria, Friends of Rescued Animals (FORA) from Krugersdorp and Caleb’s Education Trust (via BackaBuddy crowdfunding).
“Most of these charities are never able to work together, so it was nice for them to meet casually and in a fun environment and not under severely traumatic situations of animal cruelty extractions,” agreed the Alberton residents who organised this event, Tique Twoco and Sarah Rabie.
“Even though there wasn’t a significant amount of money raised for the charities, everyone seemed to bond and make the most of the day, which is also important,” Tique and Sarah agreed.
“We would like to thank everyone who supported this fund-raiser and please know that your help will go a long way towards a good cause.”
