MEMBERS of the Emmanuel Group were glued to their seats as they watched a stunning performance by artist Matt Stern in LewenSentrum in Meyersdal on April 25.

The group, which has been around for 15 years now, hosted its monthly meeting, where more than 100 attendees coming together to socialise.

The group has hosted similar meetings where the elderly from around Alberton are treated to live performances by musicians. Among other artists, the group had previously invited Rian Ungerer, Louis John, Kabous Koegelenberg and the group Touch of Class.

It was an enjoyable affair that got those present showing off their dance moves as Matt Stern performed some of his songs. Avbob representatives also attended the occasion and gave away gifts during a competition on the day.

Marelie Rabie, chairperson of the Emmanuel Group, extended her gratitude to those who attended and said everyone was invited to these gatherings.

“This is a great way of meeting and through these monthly meetings those who attend are able to enjoy themselves. Youngsters can also join us, as well as people from other areas. We only donate voluntarily for our guest artists. We are inviting everyone to attend and those interested can contact me on 011 864 1285,” said Marelie.

Charlene Joubert, a resident of Meyersdal, commented: “I enjoyed today’s event and mostly Matt Stern’s music. I am not in the same age group as most people who are here today, but I enjoy taking a day to listen to good music and socialise.”
