GALLERY: You really do get creepy crawly pets
D-Top Pet Shows gave learners from De Little Stars Daycare and Aftercare a chance to cuddle with exotic pets on May 30.
ONE thing is for sure, these little ones now know pets can also be a bit creepy, scaly and prickly – not just your furry friends.
D-Top Pet Shows gave learners from De Little Stars Daycare and Aftercare a chance to cuddle with exotic pets on May 30.
There were mixed emotions as children cuddled with pets that included a chinchilla, bunny, sand boa snake, corn snake, degu, guinea pig, hedgehog, iguana and tortoise.
The children also had an opportunity to learn about the different pets and how they should be treated.
They were all smiles as the D-Top team entertained them by singing with them, which was accompanied by stunning performances.
Shelldene Louw from D-Top said: “The importance of this show is to allow children to connect and cuddle with these pets, which is a way of teaching them to be devoted in care-giving. We are teaching them to embrace and love pets.”
D-Top Pet Shows has been in existence for six years now, performing for pre-school children up to Grade Seven. They can be found on Facebook at D-Top Pet Shows
