Silwerkroon couple appeals for sponsorship to help make a difference in the lives of others

OLD or torn clothes which one may not find useful can help an elderly couple to make a difference in the lives of others.
Pensioners Rosa and Stephanus Viviers from Silwerkroon donate bags, which have been made from old trousers, to charities.
These handmade bags, which Rosa and her husband make, are donated to Christian Seaman’s Organisation (CSO).
The bags are made from normal trousers, where a pair of trousers is cut and designed to make a carrier bag, which also provides space for toiletries.
Gifted Rosa also has a skill for crafting scarfs, which she makes using wool and has done for 15 years now.

The pair is yet to donate their cotton-made scarfs to Meals on Wheels as their next project.
They request any donations of wool or old trousers which will help their work to progress.
Rosa said they are willing to donate their work to any local charities.
“We are passionate about what we do and our aim is to make a difference where we can. Local charities can come forward, we are willing to partner with them for a good cause. We could make them either scarfs or bags, given they meet us halfway with material,” she said.
She also said anyone who wishes to join them in their efforts, or who can donate in any way, can contact Stephanus on 071 561 0091.
