WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram are down. How is this affecting you tonight?
South Africans and social media users worldwide have reported that Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram are not fully functional. Specifically, the social media users have reported being unable to see images on Facebook, Instagram being down and WhatsApp voice notes cannot be downloaded either.
International media reported that this is the case in many countries across the globe.
Facebook, WhatsApp & Instagram are having issues with downloading pictures… it’s not your phone, connection or WiFi.

According to Business Insider, the issue that has caused these social media platforms to down appear to be connected to issues at US cybersecurity firm Cloudflare which has been affected by an outage at the telecommunications provider Verizon.
