Epic Foundation receives comfort packs from Dutch Reformed Church South Crest
NG South Crest donated 40 comfort packs to Epic Foundation’s project at the church on July 8.
TO EMPOWER survivors of rape and abuse, the Dutch Reformed Church South Crest handed 40 comfort packs to Epic Foundation’s project at the church on July 8.
The Comfort Pack Project is aimed at helping survivors who need these products which have been specially prepared to be used during initial phases at hospitals, crisis centres and police stations.
Among other things, these important packs consist of a face cloth, underwear, snacks, lotions, surgical gloves and more.
Epic Foundation founder Alta McMaster thanked the congregation for the donated packs.
“These donations will make a huge difference to our beneficiaries. The packs do not go directly to police stations, but instead go to organisations that work hand in hand with police stations. We do not primarily focus on women, we also do packs for men and children, and the project plays a part in many survivors’ lives,” she said.
Rev Lorinda Schoonwinkel commented: “Working with Epic Foundation was a wonderful experience, it is always good to make a noticeable change. It was our first time working with them, but we hope to help the foundation where possible.”

Epic Foundation is in need of volunteers to assist them or those interested in donating. Should you wish to do so, contact Alta McMaster on 082 940 6230.
