WARD 38 Clr Malcolm Maifala will be reporting on a number of critical issues affecting the ward at the ward meeting.

The meeting will take place at Bracken Park Community Hall on August 22 at 6.30pm.

He will be reporting on the following issues:

• An update on the damage caused at Rennonkel Place over the Easter weekend and the plan to minimise the damage.

• Action taken to address the neglect of the old farm house at 8 Pongola Street, which has been declared a heritage site, and what the proposed solutions are at this stage.

• The bus terminus which burned down in May and hasn’t been repaired.

• An update on the regular maintenance at the Brackenhurst Library and how far council is in terms of ensuring a cleaner library.

• The status of Brackendowns Police Station and the requested intervention regarding issues faced by the police reservists and the general state of the station.

• An update on the intensified service delivery interventions as introduced by the councillor, and a plan for new projects as well as new items on the Integrated Development Plan (IDP)

Part of the meeting is also for the councillor to update residents on the progress made in the ward and future plans.

Residents will also be given an opportunity to have their say on the projects they want to see develop in the ward, as well as outstanding service delivery issues to be addressed.
