RESIDENTS at Alberton Home for the Aged were in for a surprise as they received a visit from De Little Stars Daycare and Aftercare on August 23.

Children took a morning out to share loads of love with the elderly at their Raceview home.

A group of 60 learners surprised the pensioners with fresh fruit and tasty muffins as a token of their appreciation.

The visit was a first of its kind and similar visits will be continued by the school.

Lenda Sibanyoni, principal at the school, commented: “We had a great time with the elderly people. We decided to visit them because most of our learners don’t have grandparents, this visit closed that gap.

“In a year, as a school we try to acknowledge every core of the family and this visit served that purpose.”
