WATCH: Cancer Association prepares ahead for its life-changing relay

In preparation for their Cansa Relay, Cancer Association of South Africa East Rand officially launched their relay on September 21 in Newmarket.

IN preparation for their Cansa Relay, Cancer Association of South Africa East Rand officially launched their relay on September 21 in Newmarket.

It was an evening filled with mixed emotions as the Cancer Association hosted its launch ahead of its Relay For Life which is targeted at helping cancer patients.

At the heart of Cansa Relay For Life is an opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, remembering those who died from cancer and to create awareness about the disease.

The celebration of cancer survivors was followed by a special meal which was served for attendees.

The day’s launch took interested participants through activities to expect on the day of the cancer relay.

About the event

This year’s Cansa Relay For Life will take place on November 9 and 10 at Hoërskool Dinamika.

Cansa Relay For Life is a unique 12-hour, overnight event that offers everyone in the community the opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer.

This year’s Cansa Relay For Life will start from 6pm on November 9 and finish at 6am on November 10.

There will be a special Survivors Reception taking place before the main event takes place at 4pm at the school.
