ALBERTON Retirement Village celebrated their 25 birthday with the hosting of a gala evening on September 25, and “a thank you festival” on September 28.

The gala evening, which featured many veterans of the retirement village, was in support of Stepping Stone Hospice.

Guests raised money through donations and raffles to support the hospice.

The “thank you festival”, which took place on Saturday, saw visitors enjoying good dishes prepared for them.

This included home-baked food as well as hot food for sale. Guests were treated to entertainment by Nico Booijse and a ‘Volkspele’ performance.

Delia Steenkamp celebrated her 80th birthday with Jan Steenkamp.
