Truck knocking over portable toilet leads to serious injuries

A man believed to have been in a portable toilet when a truck knocked it over had to be airlifted to hospital in Alberton North.

A man in his 40s was seriously injured after a truck knocked over the portable toilet he was in in the north of Alberton on November 8.

According to ER24, their paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 11am and another medical service was in attendance. Upon further assessing the scene, a man was found lying on top of slabs that had fallen from the truck. The man was found to have serious injuries. ER24 paramedics stabilised and treated him on the scene before he was airlifted to hospital for further medical care. The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital.

The exact circumstances that led to the incident are still being investigated.
