Every Wednesday, starting from January 22, is an open-door day for residents in Ekurhuleni to meet with ward 38 councillor Malcolm Maifala.

The introduction of open-door Wednesdays comes as a result of discussions that have taken place between the councillor and the ward committee and is part of ensuring that the councillor and his committee are freely available.

Thus, every Wednesday, residents are welcome to walk into his office at any time between 8am and 5pm at the Alberton Civic Centre on the fourth floor, behind the old Council Chamber,

No appointment will be necessary

This does not mean that he is not available on any other day to meet and discuss service delivery in the ward.

Should residents require to meet with him on another day, they are welcome to make an appointment.

Open-door Wednesdays are there to encourage easier face-to-face meetings.

This way, residents can be part of the decisions the ward committee and the councillor make on their behalf and can gain an understanding of the work done to try and improve service delivery in the ward.

The ward committee is committed to make sure that through all of their efforts, they are able to improve the standard of service delivery in the ward.
