Five people, including three children, were left injured following a collision between two taxis and a light motor vehicle in Alberton North on January 24.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 8.17am where they found two taxis in the road, while the light motor vehicle was found in the driveway of a residence.

In a statement, Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, said medics found a woman believed to be in her 30s seated inside the light motor vehicle in a critical condition.

“Another adult and three children were found walking around the scene, all with moderate injuries. The patients were treated for their injuries and the critically injured woman provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care,” said Meiring.

Details surrounding the incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
