Stepping Stone Hospice to host its fifth Tee for Two Golf Day

The hospice’s golf day has raised just over R600 000, making it one of their bigger fund-raising events of the year.

Time to dust off the golf clubs, polish the shoes and get ready to team up with your mate in the Stepping Stone Hospice annual Tee for Two Golf Day to be held on April 16 at Reading Country Club.

Since its inception five years ago, the hospice’s golf day has raised just over R600 000, making it one of their bigger fund-raising events of the year.

“We pride ourselves of the fact that we bring a well-organised and fun-filled golf day to the players and the sponsors alike,” said marketing and fund-raising manager Marietjie Tame.

“We hope to break all records this year, this being our first golf day of the new decade,” she said.

The 2019 golf day saw 124 players taking to the field and with the help of some incredible sponsors, hospice managed to raise the incredible amount of R212 000, of which R153 000 was actual profit.

The format of play remains a better-ball Stableford, with the fee per player set at R550 (or R2 200 per four-ball).

The price includes the player’s green fees, an R50 halfway voucher and prize-giving dinner, but excludes the renting of a golf cart.

Hole sponsorships range between R1 000 and R3 000.

Sponsors are invited to man the hole on the day, set up and distribute any marketing material and engage with the golfers.

A full field of 132 players are expected to participate.
