The RECORD asked what the future will look like if Ekurhuleni does not maintain our infrastructure – with special reference to water and electricity supply.
Abel Matodzi: “Very bad. The economy will drop, it will effect production and without energy we are in big trouble. We lead our lives on energy and if there’s no energy then how will I do my cooking?”
Solomon Mphahlele: “There will be no future. We rely on those things and there is nothing that we can do. It all starts with the leaders and we just aren’t heard.”
Maquela Rocha: “Dark. We will not be in a good place. Our country will end up like Zimbabwe, we will be more off than we are on. They could use hydro power or something and get rid of the pollution.”
Alpheus Mphelana: “Now that the people have seen what they are doing and have been reporting it, maybe now the government will change the infrastructure.”
