EMPD sees a decrease on road accidents since lockdown

For the entire City of Ekurhuleni, we have only had four fatalities

Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) has proudly announced that since the beginning of the lockdown accidents on the City’s roads have drastically decreased.

Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson, told the RECORD that during Easter weekend they only recorded one fatality, which occurred in Mayberry Park.

He said besides that accident, there hasn’t been an accident of a serious nature.

“For the entire City of Ekurhuleni, we have only had four fatalities. Accidents have decreased. It should be noted that police and other law enforcers also record and collect stats on accidents on our roads. We can confidently announce these numbers on behalf of the EMPD,” he said.
