Man dies in accident – two officers critical

ALBERTON – On May 3 on Kliprivier Drive, Brackendowns, a major accident occurred between a police vehicle and Polo GTI.

While the two officers were left in a critical condition, a man is believed to have died at the scene. However, a confirmation of how he died was not given through.

The police vehicle, a Nissan NP200 (BD23) posted in Sector 1, was patrolling the area on Kliprivier Drive. The GTI approached from behind in the same lane (left) and slammed into the rear of the police vehicle.

The two police officers were admitted to a hospital the same morning and the owner of the GTI passed away at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
