ALBERTON – Joey and John Kenny celebrated their 80th birthdays at the Alberton Bowling club on May 10.
For Joey this was a special birthday as she turned 80 on the day of the celebrations. Appropriately enough, 80 odd guests were invited from Alberton, Brackenhurst and Reading bowling clubs as well as family and friends from Joey’s church.
Joey and John are long-standing and well loved members of the club where Joey made her mark as a former committee member and for which she will always be remembered for her excellent catering which she did over many years.
This birthday breakfast was arranged by Joey’s daughter, Maria Frederickson, and catering done by Alta Swart with Dave Frederickson as master of ceremonies.
