Little, Junior, Teen Miss South Gauteng in aid of charity

A competition was held at the Glen Shopping Centre in aid of charity for abandoned babies

ON May 17 at 14:00 at the Glen Shopping Centre, the Little, Junior and Teen Miss South Gauteng 2014 competition was held.

The event took place at the open section (food court) of the Glen’s facility with a ramp and models of different age groups ranging from four to eight, nine to 12, and 13 to 17 who showcased their talent to the judges and the crowd.

The event was in aid of Angels Baby Sanctuary, a safe haven for abandoned babies. Anne Ebrahim worked for the past two years to start the charity, which opened in November 2013.

“The first baby was welcomed into the home in March this year,” said Richie Ebrahim. They now have five babies in their care.

“We received money and baby products to use for the babies. We are very grateful to the Glen Shopping Centre and Tandi from Rampage Modelling, who has nominated us as the charity of the event, and the people of the South for their generosity,” said Richie.

The Glen Shopping Centre was instrumental in promoting and sponsoring the stage for the event. Winners received prizes sponsored by various companies:

SEEF Jhb South gave SEEF sashes and numbers for the contestants; Thaba Eco Hotel: Eco Walks donated a pizza or burger, a cool drink and a dessert for the winner and friends; Sinzinani Spa at Thaba gave fun and luxurious Pamper Parties for the winner and friends; Lombardi Lions donated free entry to see the lion cubs; Cazabella Jewellery donated a beautiful necklace for each winner.

Rietvlei Zoo Farm provided 50 per cent discount off thatch lapa hire. Also donated: Numetro vouchers, Paul James hairdressing vouchers, Spur vouchers and Mugg and Bean vouchers. Others sponsors: Social Edge modern day finishing school, Printstagram (canvas and vouchers) and Rampage modelling agency (one month’s free lessons).
