AMCARE wants to make blessing blankets

Blessing blankets are often associated with babies, but many miracles of healing, physical, spiritual and emotional, have been attributed to the blankets throughout the years.

ALBERTON: Staff at the AMCARE Centre of Faith, Hope and Love in New Market Park work with abused women and children. They are now appealing to the community for donations of double-sided polar fleece fabric in order for victims to be taught how to make these into blankets. “We believe that a project such as this can help these women heal emotionally and teaches them a skill they otherwise wouldn’t have had,” says Marihet Infantino, social work manager at AMCARE.

“We will then donate these blankets to organizations such as Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services, child welfare organizations and centres caring for the homeless,” Marihet continues to explain.

Anyone who can assist, is asked to contact Marihet 011 869 5856 or e-mail marihetinfo@amcare.org.za
