WHAT people feel about the e-toll system and the police who tag along with a SANRAL van on the side of the road when they stop to ask motorists where their e-tag/s are?
Kesselon Reddy:
I am not going to get one and if there is no law about it, then they can’t do anything about it.
Anonymous:
I feel threatened and refuse to get an e-tag. Jacob Zuma’s comment when he said he never wanted the upgrades to his house. We never wanted the e-toll.
Rajn Naidoo:
I am against the e-toll and the way in which thy have approached the situation is out of question.
Kagiso Maima:
Government makes enough money already, so why must they continue to suck us dry?. Can’t they have the respect for the people instead of trying to take us down, can’t they rather lift us up?

Check out what these people had to say:
Greg O’Donoghue: “I now have to drive all the back roads. I am totally against the e-tolling. This thing about police getting involved with Sanral, they should rather be actively involved in fighting crime, etc. They were extremely clever about e-toll by keeping the taxis out of it, because they knew there would be chaos. I feel threatened and intimidated in the sense that the police would interrogate me and ask where my e-tag is, it is unpleasant.”
Anton Muller: “I do use the roads every now and again. I haven’t officially received a bill yet. They haven’t sent me any registered mail. I also never signed any agreements that state since the last 20 years I have used the roads that I must pay for the roads that have always been there. In a foreign country where there is an e-toll system in place, they actually provide you with a proper alternative route, whereas the e-toll here is situated just before a turn-off. They want us to become green
Johan Erasmus: “I was informed that some people pass by the highway and are charged. A friend told us that he was stopped at a roadblock and they were informing him that he’d better pay for e-toll otherwise they would have to go to court.”
Barry De Ru and Melissa Evans: “I will never pay e-toll and we are not fans of the system. It does not fall within our budget.”
Span Dube: “I will never pay, I do not have an e-tag. They sent a statement asking for money, but I use alterantive routes to try and avoid the gantries.”
David Tshabalala: “I am against the e-toll. Most of us cannot afford this. It is not part of our budget. The government are taking money from the poor people. The government have enough money.”
