Nikita suffers from cerebral palsy and needs support
She is using a small wheelchair and needs a better one

THE Hoffman family from Meyerton has suffered many setbacks. Johannes Petrus Hoffman had a heart attack in Durban, his wife has a blood sugar problem and bad arthritis, while their daughter Nikita suffers from cerebral palsy.
Johannes and his wife came back to Johannesburg from Durban and people offered Johannes a job. He worked for one month and then he developed a hernia. They said he had to go because he could not manage to pick up anything; he built water valves which weighed a lot.
He went back to Louis Trichardt in Limpopo and back to Meyerton, Johannesburg. The Hoffmans are not able to care for themselves properly. Nikita has been living with the disability for the past 12 years.
The only area they can receive proper care and treatment is by going to a hospital in Bloemfontein.
Pastor Clive met the family in the Alberton area at the corner of Kliprivier and Swartkoppies roads, where they were walking on the main road. Pastor Clive stopped, felt humbled and sorry for them. After he heard that Johannes had suffered a heart attack, a burst hernia and a second hernia, and also a tumour under the ribs close to his lungs, Pastor Clive knew he had to do something.
The pastor took them to the church facility. The wheelchair Nikita needs that is suitable for her condition costs R33 000.
They have tried to apply for government aid but it has been consistently refused. The family had previously gone to other churches that were unable to assist them, but Pastor Clive has taken it upon himself to help.
“I have turned to the Alberton RECORD for help in raising funds for the family,” he said.
