Alberton – The annual SAPS East Rand Sports club quarterly venture took place at the Sundowner Sport Bar in Alberton on September 10.

This included a 5km and 10km fun run and there was also a fun 17km cycle down the R59 highway.

It was also aimed at enhancing the fitness of the SAPS members. But the event was also for members of the East Rand Sports Club.

“Participation will be 100 up to 120 members and it is growing,” said Captain Lourens Engelbrecht from Brackendowns SAPS, adding, “It is also about team work.”

After the fun challenge, members were able to enjoy a boerewors roll and cooldrink or water.
