THE principal and educators of Palmridge Combined School are proud of their grade 7 learner, Sinokuhle Khumalo, who obtained first position in the OR Thambo Essay Writing Competition, which was organised by Ekurhuleni Library and Information Services (ELIS) for schools in the district.

The competition, with the topic “Are we walking in the footsteps of OR Thambo today?” was open to learners from grade 5 to 11. Sinokuhle walked away with the first price on October 27 at Actonville Hall, Benoni.

“On behalf of teachers, learners and the SGB, I want to congratulate Sinokuhle for a job well done. We are very proud of her and hope that her achievement will encourage other learners,” said Singh, principal.
